Post 460 is a community service organization that is focused on serving Veterans and their families. The Post and Auxiliary Unit work closely together to regularly visit Veterans Homes and the VA Hospital. We provide food, clothing, toiletries and run Bingo and other games for their entertainment. We participate in the annual Stand Down each summer which focuses on Homeless Veterans and their families. Above all, the most important thing we do is to let them know we appreciate their service and they are not forgotten.
We are very active in Children and Youth programs also. Each year we interview High School students for participation in Boys and Girls State. We pay their fees, transportation and some spending money. This is an outstanding opportunity for them to learn how our government works in a hands on environment and perhaps advance to National. We also sponsor JROTC units, Scouting and the Spinoza Buddy Bear program for children in distress. We gather holiday food baskets for needy families over the holidays and we honor Law Enforcement and Firefighting personnel at our Law & Order dinner. We have been recognized with several awards for outstanding Children and Youth programs, Community Service, and for Law & Order and Membership programs Statewide. Our goal is to promote Americanism and Patriotism throughout our communities.
Our Clubroom helps to support our community programs by providing a “Cheers” like atmosphere where “everybody knows your name”. Drop by, enjoy a drink with friends and tell some “sea stories”. We serve Breakfast on Sunday mornings and Dinners on Friday and Monday nights. ( See Calendar Page ) We have regular social events for the Membership and the Kitchen and Dining room are available for rent to the public. We have 7 TV’s, including a Big Screen for Sports, Juke Box, and a FREE Pool Table. We also have a separate Smoking Patio if you are so inclined.
Active Duty and Reserve Military are Welcome. Bring your ID Card, No Membership required. Come visit us, we are sure you will have a great time.
